Welcome to Catch A Falling Star Nursery 

Hi, my name is Anita Borriell-Barker.
I live in Kingston Upon Hull. I am the artist behind
*Catch A Falling Star* Nursery. 

I am married to Graham, we have 5 children, 3 of which are birth children, 1 adopted child and 1 ex-foster child. They are Christopher,  Craig ,  Leanne ,  Molly  and Lisa .  We have 4 Grandchildren, Thomas , Grace , Lilyann  and Maddison . 
 

Our first grandchild was born June 1997,  her name was Natalie Jade, she was born 3 months premature and only survived 10 days. It is my memories of Natalie that are always with me whilst creating each reborn or newborn baby. I put my heart and soul into each individual one.

I Have always liked baby dolls, but only managed to salvage one from my childhood.  It was whilst searching the internet for information about this particular doll that I came across the reborn babies.  I instantly became hooked. I started searching for a reborn like our little star Natalie Jade, then one night I spotted her. I just had to have her.The artist was the well known and very talented Denise Farmer, but at the time, I had no knowledge of her or this beautiful art that brings these beautiful babies to life.This baby was such a tiny little thing with lots of dark hair ( just like Natalie). She lay there in an incubator with tubes attached and dressings here and there.  I felt so excited, it was just like the very first time we saw Natalie at the Special Care Baby Unit in the maternity hospital.

It was nearly my birthday,  Graham said he would bid on her for my birthday gift.  I couldn't wait, there were about four days  to the end of the auction and I counted down every second of it.  It was finally here, Graham clicking away on the bid now key everything going well,  my heart in my mouth then it sank. It was the end of the auction and the words
SORRY YOU HAVE BEEN OUTBID appeared on the screen. I felt like I had lost my granddaughter again. I then thought if this artist Denise Farmer can bring a doll to life, then so can I.

I searched the internet looking for the same type of doll Denise Farmer had reborn. I bought paints, brushes thinners etc.  pulled the doll to pieces, then as I removed it's wig, I looked horrified at the poor little thing and thought what on earth have I done?   I then  became a member of  The Learning Platform Forum and started a reborn course.  

I have since completed and passed the very high standard  course, thanks to Dianne, Clare, Suzette and all  members. I could not have got this far without them.   

I am at present reborning my 17th baby. One of these babies is very similar to the Denise Farmer baby that started my addiction. It is also very special  because I have created her.  She is a special part of me, I called her Natalie Jade. She is the  falling star I caught.
